Just learned that Kerwin Matthews passed away on July 5 at the age of 81. While his career spanned nearly thirty years, he will likely be best remembered for his role as Sinbad in the classic Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. This passing fills me with sorrow - and if you're a frequent reader of this blog you'll know why - yet I can't help but feel a new kinship that I never knew before. Apparently he had spent much of the last thirty years here in the Bay Area - and passed right here in San Francisco. Wish I'd known he was so close at hand. Now, I find him even closer than that.
